Hayday

How Hayday works

Three steps, about two minutes, nothing saved.

1. The photo is read by AI

You take a photo of your pay stub. An AI model reads the picture and pulls out the numbers: hours, pay rate, pieces, gross pay, deductions, net pay. It only transcribes what it sees. You check the numbers on the next screen and fix anything it got wrong.

2. The pay is checked by code, not by AI

You answer three short questions about your week. Then a fixed set of rules written in plain code compares your numbers with California farm labor pay law: minimum wage, overtime, paid rest breaks for piece-rate work, meal and rest break penalties, missing hours, and missing information on the stub. The same numbers always give the same answer, and every finding shows its math and the law it comes from.

3. The letter is written from the verified numbers

If something is owed, the AI drafts a wage demand letter to your employer in English and Spanish, using only the amounts and laws from step 2. You can download it as a PDF and attach it to a wage claim with the California Labor Commissioner. We also show free legal aid offices in your county.

What happens to your data

Nothing is stored. Your photo is sent once to be read and is not kept. Your name, numbers and letter exist only in your browser and disappear when you close the tab. There are no accounts and no tracking.

How accurate is it

It is an estimate. The rates come from the California Department of Industrial Relations and were verified on October 24, 2026. Where the law has exceptions we could not cover, the estimate stays on the low side. A free legal aid office can confirm the result.

For supervisors and legal aid

The supervisor view loads several stubs from one employer and shows which rules are broken, on how many stubs, and the estimated total, with the law cited on every line and a CSV export.
